Stretching for Ease....
Flexibility is needed to perform day to day routines with ease. Flexibility diminishes with age especially with a sedentary lifestyle. You'll find in this article helpful ways to become and stay flexible.

Flexibilty is movement
The more often we stretch our bodies the less tension and stress there is in the body. We already know of several massage benefits and the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise. In a quick internet search there are many local yoga studios and online tutorials. Something to consider as well is our own daily routine of actives; our job, the type of exercise we do, and what areas of stress and tension we feel in our bodies. With this information we can select our stretching routine to reflect the opposite of what we do physically all the time. Daily stretching is wonderful, but how much time are we making for it? Here are a few tips to get more from our routine.

Here are some good considerations to prepare for the stretch:
  • Inhale and exhale deeply, for even lengths of time
  • Hold each stretch for 30 seconds to a minute
  • Make minor adjustments to your stretch as you feel the muscles release and lengthen
  • Keep your eyes open and focused four feet in front of you
  • View your whole self in the mirror in order to see your vertical and        horizontal line
  • Select several stretches and do two repetitions each; you might stretch further the second time around
  • Stand or sit on a yoga mat for a good non-slip grip
  • Stretch while also having a steady balance by engaging your core and lengthening your whole spine

For example: as a Massage Therapist I bend forward, tilting or twisting over my client as I work. By bending backward, extending my abdomen and contracting my lower back, I release the tension from all that forward bending and twisting. Two of my favorite stretches are the yoga camel pose and bow pose.

Receiving a massage manipulates the muscles individually to stretch and lengthen the tissue which creates relaxation. I look forward to our next appointment!

Why should you get your brows waxed or shaped?

A benefit of brow waxing or shaping can do a number of things to your overall look, from instantly opening the entire eye area, to creating a well-groomed frame for the face.

Brow Shaping Know-How:
1. Locate Your Starting Points
Flip your tweezer upside down so the open end is pointing downward, and place it vertically alongside the outer edge of the bottom of your nose. The point where the vertex lands marks the beginning of your brow. Using an eye pencil, draw a vertical line to show the start of each brow, then check that the space above the bridge of your nose is centered between them. Remove the strays that fall in between.

2. Mark Your End Points
Lay the tweezer on an angle against your cheek so that the open end is at the bottom of your nose and the other end reaches the outer corner of your eye. The spot where the tweezer intersects your brow is where the hairs should end. Mark it with the eye pencil, then tweeze the hairs beyond the line.

3. Determine Your Brow Thickness
Starting just below the fullest part of your brow, use an eye pencil to draw a line along the bottom edge of your brow; it should be above any stray hairs and it should follow the natural shape of your brow's top line, which may be angled, slightly curved, or even straight. Tweeze the strays below the line. Your brows should be between a quarter inch and a half inch at their thickest.

4. Shape Your Arch
The arch of the brow should peak above the outer rim of your iris and lie right on your brow bone:  Mark the point with your eye pencil, then remove a row of hairs along the bottom, from your inner brow point to the peak point. After the peak, shape the tail.
